In 2012, I have left Lithuania to complete my bachelor‘s degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology at the University of Glasgow and have actively participated at the Europe-wide actions to advocate for policies to mitigate the extensive impacts of global warming. Simultaneously, I was involved in successful divestment campaigns to counteract Scottish public financing of fossil fuels, while actively engaging university students in sustainable community projects. In 2016, I have joined Friends of the Earth Europe as their youth network coordinator, where I started focusing on looking for common systemic issues, which not only reinforce global warming, but support the pillars of patriarchy and racism.
