Sylvia Azmy is currently an undergraduate majoring in Economics, with a minor in Arabic literature at the American University in Cairo. She is interested in queer theory and queer identities in Arabic literature. She tries in her writing to shift the debate from “homosexual acts” to queerness as resistance of systems, not necessarily homophobia.
