International Mother Language Day

Language stands as the very bedrock of culture, a powerful medium that articulates our unique identities and ties us to our heritage, present, and destiny.

The freedom to speak one’s mother tongue is the most precious gift in the world. Bangladesh holds a distinctive honor as the only country that fought for this freedom. UNESCO acknowledges this struggle on International Mother Language Day, observed on 21st February, commemorating the sacrifices made during that fight. We hold deep respect for every mother tongue globally. Language serves as a vital means of communication, and for foreigners, learning a new language not only provides a practical advantage but also fosters a profound respect for others’ languages.

This video is a tribute to those living far from home and those who yearn to express their emotions in their mother tongue. Let us unite to celebrate the richness of diversity in language and culture
