Juan Glassford (Mexico City, 1998) is a Mexican-born artist residing in New York. Glassford currently attends Bard College, where he studies Photography and Human Rights. His work is usually shot in Black & White while following a ‘documentary-style’ aesthetic. In 2019, Glassford was offered the Documentary/Storytelling Director’s Fellowship at the International Center of Photography (ICP), interned at the Center for Photography at Woodstock (2021), and secured a portfolio review with Magnum Photos through it’s Magnum Learn program (2021). Glassford’s interests in Human Rights are mostly focused on the visual study of subcutaneous-loneliness and collective trauma. Glassford will be graduating Bard College in May 2022 and will continue to develop projects within the American-South, the East Coast, and Mexico.
